The city of Bologna, in northern Italy, woke up one morning to a 30 km/h, 20 mph limit. A measure desired by the mayor and the junta of the PD, Italy’s progressive left, which displeased a many citizens and caused controversy and protest. Being a leftist junta, however, is always right, even, indeed, especially, when it is wrong.

The citizens of Bologna, however, have called into action yet another anti-system hero, “LimitMan,” “SpeedLimitMan. “Or, at least, it seems to lead to this consideration, the action of those who turned the 3 of the 30 km/h limit, painted on the asphalt, into an 8. And sure, there is a big difference between going 30 mph, 50 mph, or 80 mph.

The stunt is actually not brand new on the web: Limiteman already knows him. And there are photos circulating on the web with these prohibition signs where 30 is now an 80. “A new kind of ‘urban superhero’ who turns 30 signs into 80, with a small modification, making unclear signage fines unenforceable,” one user had written a few days ago.

However, the controversy in Bologna seems to have no end. There are several people who oppose the decision taken by the Bologna City Council to turn the city into a huge ’30 zone’: from citizens to different categories of workers, such as merchants, artisans, or taxi drivers.

The taxi drivers have already mobilized with signatures and a document with concrete proposals, but the first citizen is pulling straight: “We have reduced accidents this month. We must continue in the coming months,” he said Sunday. Of course, if no one moved, accidents would be reduced to zero, but so would the mobility of citizens. In the perfect consistency of the left, this would imprison everyone.
